Hi Alex! Could you share with us info about what is the aperture on 98mm?

  • August 27, 2018 at 5:28 AM

i bought the pro, because I prefer drone photography. I think pro allows better post production editing.

Question for you and other more experienced drone people: For whatever color depth and EV stop that is lacking on the Zooom (vs the Pro), can I correct this in post to achieve almost the same results? In this regard, I can have the benefits of the zoom and possibly not have less quality in the final results. Also, is the lack of aperture flexibility on the Zoom a big deal? Thanks in advance! Chad

Dude, my thoughts exactly! I was totally in the Pro camp at first. But the Zoom just provides more creative options for the type of filming and shooting I do. Great review!

How do I know which one to buy? I love the zoom feature and the other effects of the zoom but the rendering of the pro is great. I don't know which to get.

Apparently, if you want to upgrade to the Hasselblad later, you can send your M2 Zoom to DJI and for a fee they will install the Hasselblad onto your M2.

PLEASE, DO A TEST WHERE YOU JUST FLY THE DRONE STRAIGHT UP AND JUST DROP. what will happen? will the drone stop before it hits the ground because of the sensors? or will it just crash. i suggest that you do a video of real world scenarios of some things that would happen if something went wrong. im sure that a lot of people who never had a DJI or any high tech drone with sensors are wondering if its worth the money. please do a video on real world scenarios with the mavic 2. like what would happen if you went out of range? will there be a warning? how about battery? what would happen if you ran out? will it give you a warning? all those kind of stuff.

How does the zoom model camera compare to the "old " Mavic for sharpness and resolution? Better or worse from a similar sensor?

  • September 5, 2018 at 8:27 AM

I think there is only one real answer to this question. Buy both. It's a hard truth but I honestly think neither is better, they are just both for different purposes. The best option would have been to make the cameras swappable. But sadly, DJI didn't do that lol. I am going to get both though. I have the pro on the way but after seeing what the zoom can do, I think it will be worth the money due to the new possibilities of the zoom function. Also, the zoom will be a nice drone for any inspection purposes I might have. Inspecting my roof on my house, for example.

Alex , Great Work . Could you compare zoom super res pic 48 megapixels to pro pic . Thank you

  • September 6, 2018 at 3:38 PM

We all know that all next gen of new mavic drones will come with zoom. go with zoom it will be a standar feature

  • September 6, 2018 at 3:41 PM

No one its talking about this, but i think that you will save more battery life with the mavic zoom, now you dont have to go to closer or to far to have a great shot 🙂

DJI and his minions usually cheat and do not write that the side sensors work only with the activ track and the tripod function, and the tripod function does NOT work !! Just as most of the functions do not work because the DJI application is tragic. No Waypoinrs, Follow My …. Application error for Mavic 2 zoom to Androim Samsun s9

Hi, what part of the menu is the option to take 48 megapixel photos.
    Thank you

How i wish a drone like the mavic…….unfortunately I will never have one

  • September 22, 2018 at 10:23 AM

Now that there are many more sensors in the drone, I’d like to know if the issue of having sun being identified as an obstacle was fixed. Did you test that?

  • September 22, 2018 at 10:33 AM

Thankyou for the review – I enjoyed the presentation – very professional!!

  • September 29, 2018 at 10:14 AM

would like to bit more about the viewing screen how is the picture quality at full flying range do you loose any signal while flying ?

  • September 29, 2018 at 3:01 PM

I have it for about ten days, but with automatic parameters the exposure of the videos is exaggerated and even the final quality does not seem worthy of a drone DJI. I also had Mavic Air and the videos are better on the latter, which has an automatic management of exposure far more effective. I came to think that maybe it's a defect of the camera, but it seems to me that at hardware level everything works fine. Does anyone find this defect? Maybe the DJI will improve this aspect in a next update? Thank you very much!

Nice review! Zoom and Pro 2 both look amazeballs! I'm curious though – what did you shoot this review on?

He: have you seen the footage on this drone?

Me: have you seen the footage on your crappy camera?
